Regrounding yourself after psychedelics

To make this short: -a popular idea behind using psychedelics is to perceive reality and the world from a "blank" perspective (shattering beliefs, opinions, and concepts) -post-psychedelic experience, you begin to rebuild what you think you now know through your normal life -this stage is usually confusing and complicated because you're trying to re-understand everything and questions about new things bombard you -ideas and opinions eventually settle through daily practice

i tripped about a week ago and the last time before that was 8 months ago. during those 8 months I truly experienced what "regrounding" felt like, and the urge to do psychedelics was nonexistent. I look back on myself just a couple weeks ago and its weird feeling different now. I was at an amazing point in my life (not saying i'm not now). I was at utter peace. I was me. Now im going to rebuild me and make me even better!

i believe psychedelics make things complicated, in a good way. they make you ask questions that were usually afraid of asking, and also some unnecessary ones you have to brawl with. here's the catch. it's not as much fun after that. that's when you actually have to work and put a lot of effort in, recreating yourself and sticking to what you've learned. that's why i think some people constantly use psychedelics. we have the right intentions but we get lazy and end up tricking ourselves that we're actually accomplishing things by experiencing these "revelations", but not doing anything with them.

i think a lot of people use psychedelics too often to experience that true inner settlement that happens after extended periods of time of focused uninterrupted practice (the time frame is probably different for everyone) it's important to remember why we're doing this in the first place. having that psychedelic urge after a week or two may just be your mind telling you, "ugh, i don't want to do all that work. let's do that thing where it feels like all the work is done". it takes time! but eventually you'll reach a point where everything is exactly how you want it to be, simple, peaceful, productive, and fun.

feel free to share opinions, your criticism, or thoughts. thanks! -barefootjesus
