A small gripe about instant self-respawning.
The fact we can do this is great. Separated from your squad with ten level 100 corpus techs staring at you as you're stuck in a corner? Thank god, you don't have to wait, knowing you're not going to get revived.
But I can't count how many people I've landed on, only to have them self-revive. I've seen people self revive, get insta-gibbed and self revive right after. It's maddening.
These are the same people who whine about having one revive left on long missions.
If you remove this feature, people will bring out the pitchforks.
Can't nerf it, it's now instant the moment you press X.
I'm to the point of not even looking in someones direction if they go down 5+ seconds away, it's damn near guaranteed that they'll respawn.
Did this post have a point? I don't know, really. Grumble grumble.

This revive change should stay, it's very handy. Stupid people are going to continue being stupid no matter what you do, wether you take* away insta revives or not.
Does the Darwin Award apply to video games?
The idea behind the real-life Darwin Award is that the recipients improved the gene pool by removing themselves from it in one way or another. I'm not sure what the video game equivalent would be, since there's very little that can truly keep you permanently from playing a game again if you really want to.
Doing something that's monumentally stupid and also gets you permabanned
That's probably as close as you can get, but even then you could presumably get back to playing the game if you were really dedicated, albeit not on the same account.
