Yes, its a Michael Edwards thread why is someone with so little inexperience appointed at such a crucial time for the club?

Klopp is the one not wanting alternatives
So fire him then ?
There's someone to blame for our transfer failings, our shortsightedness to not look beyond our first choices and our inability to strengthen the team - and if its not Edwards then who is it? Because they need to be fired to fuck.
you realize klopp definitely plays a part in this right?
No shit.
So then surely you should be mad at Klopp?
Yep I'm mad at whoever is to blame...whoever has left us in a position whereby the defence has not improved. Where we are STILL in a position where we are 1 or 2 key injuries to being a thread bare squad again relying on kids. If you're implying I'm not ready to blame Klopp or something, you're mistaken.
It is not Michael Edwards who has chosen not to look elsewhere for 2nd choice players.. it is klopp's doings. Can some fans not see any faults in the man?
Well what can also be true is that if the club still works like it does when Rodgers was coach: Klopp isn't satisifed with the second option put forward by the club on the list of targets hence why he is adament on his first option or nothing motto.
And that's down to Edwards and the scouts.
I literally said if its not Edwards then who is it? And if its Klopp then yes I can see faults in the man. I see faults in the way he sets up our defence too because that isn't working at all either.
Yes but your entire post was about Edwards' failings, yet I think that a large amount of Liverpool's transfer troubles stem a) from klopps stubbornness to move on and b) it is out of his hands and other teams are refusing to sell.
Well since he's in charge of bringing players in I assumed it is down to his failings - which is a fair assumption to make right?
Good, I'm glad you offered an opinion on where the transfer troubles stem from. If its out of his hands with regards to other teams not wanting to sell, then where's the other list of players, second choices? He needs to be able to help Klopp and advise that the team needs help and bolstering.
That's sort of making the assumption that Edwards hasn't been doing just that. Bottom line is how long do you think Edwards would last if Klopp called up Mike Gordon and said Edwards wasn't doing his job? Klopp is very much the face of the club, he gets what he wants.
As fans, I'm sure we see a tiny percentage of the names being looked at behind the scenes of the club. Each day I'm sure there will be plenty of discussions about alternatives that are never leaked to the press. The lack of transfer activity seemingly comes from klopp, considering his several interviews where he has stated that he will accept nothing but first choice. Joyce and a few others have stated that there are alternatives. Furthermore there will not only be just Edwards involved in coming up with a 'list' of players. Scouts and other people high up in the club I'm sure deal with the transfer dealings. I don't believe that the blame can be placed on only one person.
Klopp just said the squad is fine and now you are scapegoating Edwards for what Klopp said? How does that make sense? This sub always loves a good scapegoat. Rodgers, Migs, Hendo, Moreno, Klopp, FSG, Milner, and Lovren from the past. This season is all about Edwards now.
Edward's job is player identification and player recruitment. Given we've had a poor summer; no progress extending Can's contract, the VVD embarrassment, failing to sign Kieta and VVD and lack of alternatives, it's surely right his role will be questioned. However It's all conjecture because none of us know the inner most workings of the club, but from the outside looking in, it's not been a great start for our sporting director.
Maybe none of it is his fault. Maybe some of it is. It's impossible to say. But I do know that Klopp was used to working with a world class sporting director at Dortmund who was crucial to their success and remains so. In contrast Edwards is extremely inexperienced which is a legitimate cause for concern. Saying so isnt scapegoating.
Finally, someone on my wavelength. Thanks.
Removing- titlegore
What's up with it?
Punctuation, spelling and also violating the rule against vague/editorialized titles.
We're having a decent discussion though, can you not edit it? Seems a waste tbh.
"There's someone to blame for our transfer failings, our shortsightedness to not look beyond our first choices and our inability to strengthen the team - and if its not Edwards then who is it? Because they need to be fired to fuck."
It's Klopp mate who didn't want to look past Keita/VVD, FSG were more than willing to back him.
before mignolet turned it around, everyone was up for achterberg's head last season
so here's the things ya dumb figgety ferrets, just cause someone is in a position doesn't mean it's their fault things don't work out...sometimes
nagelsmann is inexperienced...he is 30 for fuck's sake but he's done a phenomenal job with hoffenheim
so sit your ass down and have patience instead of screaming your ass off on a keyboard
P.S. I am not to suggesting we haven't made missed our targets due to our own failings (VVD) and being shut out of keita deal
There is more a endemic issue here with our transfer and management for quite some time which predates edwards appointments for ex. transfers post the sale of suarez to barcelona
Probably because Nagelsmann is good at job?
how are so sure that transfer issues are all the result of edward's incompetence?
The title is using inexperience to suggest he doesn't deserve his post, I gave an example of an individual with little experience who is good at his job...you are in principle agreeing with me
stick to one, either you don't like edwards because he is incompetent in your informed opinion or inexperienced...don't jump ships whenever it suits you
its not Edwards then who is it? Because they need to be fired to fuck.
I'm not, that's why I said this. But you must of missed that bit.
of course, I don't know...but you start a discussion with a scapegoat then ask people to provide another so you can take it's head off

Fuck me do you even read? The post literally says if its not Edwards then who is it?
But FUCK READING right?
[deleted]
That's the first sentence. Why read more than that. Fuck the coup that we signed him and his reputation.
So are we not allowed to criticise anyone because they were signed on a coup or because of a reputation?? What the fuck?
I don't understand how this sentence is coherent.
Learn to read, its fine.
That's what people say klopp is. Person who organizes the details with agents... doesn't need to be a draw. But make up details if you want. Please cite a player who has said they signed because of the club's administration.
No idea what you're banging on about here. I've not made up anything.
ok
Ok.
You will son argue against yourself
What?
Pretty good signings
Never said they werent.
Ok. Pace and winger was one of the biggest needs of the squad at the end of last season. You've kinda forgotten what 2 months ago was like. That's fine you've forgotten how it was. But don't pretend it was a different situation. We all knew we needed another forward player (see all the posts from december to salah signing)
I've not forgotten anything, you're making assumptions. We also all know we need defensive reinforcements for the first team, where are those?
Yeah you are so smart. Kudos to you.
Thanks, I'll take it with a pinch of salt though.
I read what you wrote. Everything I said still stands. Now you basically wasted my time because I had to reply to the absolute garbage you wrote
Ditto.
Why are these getting deleted?
It's a sensible debate. ANd don't tell me it's low effort, we have a "lets all suck FSG dick balls deep on the front page even though the window hasn't even closed yet".
This guy refuses to talk in public and we know nothing about him and what his vision is of LFC while he holds a key post probably 3rd most influent after Klopp and Mike Gordon.
Because we don't need one hundred threads an hour about "DAE FSG SUCK" or "ITS ALL EDWARDS FAULT".
His job isn't to talk in public for fuck sake, Moore is the one who has that role.
If people don't want to speak about it fine, you're not forced to read it nor comment.
I think people do want to talk about it though which is why I made it.
Feel free to not comment on it.
But we need "lets all love FSG" or "NOT FSG FAULT" "DAE congratulate FSG" everytime?
Evidently we do need a "Not FSG fault" post everyday, because people want to blame them for everything from Global Warming to Klopp not having alternatives.
So come on tell us who is to blame then...instead of whining...
I usually find, before overreacting, bitching, pointing fingers or throwing a tantrum it's best to have the whole picture in front of you. We will not have that picture until September 1st.
Well I'm not overreacting but I just think debate is healthy. Most don't visits the subreddit daily/hourly and can't see these posts before it gets rapidly deleted.
By which point its too late?
Oh do you think FSG, Jurgen, Edwards and the rest of the transfer committee are getting ready to click their r/liverpoolfc/new bookmark hoping to find the answer to our transfer problems here?
Yes - Graeme Kelly, The Grizz, Macca and the guys over at the Firm told me that Jurgen Klopp checks this sub every 10 minutes in between refreshes of his Liverpool weighted Twitter news feed.
It doesn't matter at which point is too late, my friend. Your anxiety will have no effect on the outcome.
I know that but we can still discuss the goings on right?
This isn't a sensible debate. This is a temper tantrum. If someone wants to write a well reasoned argument and is respectful and acknowledging of different opinions then they can have at it.
Isn't the "let's all congratulate FSG" post a circlejerk too...?
Nothing well reasoned about that.
I didn't say this was a circlejerk and I wouldn't say that is either.
Was it well reasoned?
so little inexperience? so.... he's experienced?
I wish I could edit my title, just filled with rage at the mo, excuse the typo, I'm sure you know what I mean.
>just filled with rage at the mo
haha sorry that just made me laugh.
Haha someone posted that after the CL match the other day, laughed my tits off.
