Have a seriously interested buyer asking me how much?

Looking for advice / tips on how I should communicate a price to a seriously interested buyer of my established website.

I spoke to him twice over the weekend and he ended up asking how much, but said I could get back to him via email with a price.

First time for me, so any advice on the wording, I want to communicate that I'm open to counter offers / negotiation from the price.

I also wanted to offer my time (for an additional amount) to support the transition over a period of time. Anyone else done this before?

Thanks

Make sure in your offer to state an earnest money request. After you give them a sales price and potential contract, earnest money is the next step.

Recently was in this situation and the 'buyer' wanted me to do all the paperwork for a sale without giving any earnest money. Told him I needed funds to know he was serious. Been silent for a month now. Never know how serious a 'potential buyer' is until they put up some cash.

Thanks, first time hearing that term, looked it up and makes sense to get a deposit of earnest money.

Don't be open to counter offers / negotation. Tell them the cost and if they don't like it then they can go somewhere else.

I would think about how long it took you to establish (and maintain the site) and times that by your hourly rate (start with $30/hour if you don't already have an hourly rate) and add the hosting and domain name costs (add at least another $50 to that), then think if it's worth it for you to give up that website (you can always double or triple the amount).

Offering your time over a period of time could be known as a subscription, or a contract that lasts x hours each month for x months.

don't email, call

btw, you sound like you're desperate as you outline several areas where you are giving in preemptively

just call, name your number, then SHUT UP
