Dear /r/sdkhammer, on behalf of the mod team I am pleased to announce that we will be hosting playtesting!
You heard that right! r/sdkhammer has received a gift of 20 free CS:GO servers from Doug Hoogland, AKA TopHATTWibidata (depending on what part of the world you live in). The process of applying for playtesting was heavily debated, however we came to a consensus.
Step 1: Make sure your map has at least 4 stars on the workshop. We don't want to have to waste server time on low-quality content.
Step 2: Send us the VMF and BSP (with assets packed). The VMF is needed as our SDK Hammer Sync application can change the map in real time to respond to feedback. The BSP is needed because of step 3.
Step 3: Delete your map from the workshop. This is required because if Valve decides to mass-update the subscribed items while playtesting it can conflict with Sync. Your client will download the map through fastdl, NOT through the workshop.
We will not re-upload your workshop item as our own. 100%. No joke. Trust us. Not a scam.
Can't wait to see some gullible eager mappers, ready to get the feedback their map needs to improve!
