[Main Spoilers] Where were the undead giants?

I know that the logical explanation is that the funding was put all into the whole army and the dragons. But I wonder why there wasn't any of the undead giants at the battle on the frozen lake. They clearly made it a point to show them in the beginning of the season. I wonder when they will show up for battle because if they had during the lake fight I'm sure it would have brought different and tougher results. Any thoughts as to why they weren't there other than probable reasons of having the funding go towards the dragons and all that. Idk. I just thought that they would have made an appearance at least now since the season is drawing to a close. It would have been an awesome turn of events seeing them charging Jon and company on that island they were on. That or at the very least seeing them pull out the dragon.
