Some questions

  1. Where is the incentive? If I make shoes, let’s say, in a factory where the means of production are owned by the workers cooperatively, and I make 100 shoes in a day and someone else makes 50 shoes in a day, what motivates me to keep making 100 instead of taking it easy?

  2. One of your criticisms of capitalism is that you do not own the whole product of your labor. However, do you own any of the product of your labor under communism? Aren’t the produced things just shared amongst all of society? If I made 100 shoes, I don’t presume I get to keep them, right? And if I do, what am I gonna do with 100 shoes? Trade them for stuff with other people? Is that ‘allowed’?

  3. Another criticism of capitalism is that it leads to huge inequalities. So in my example, if I do get to keep the product of my labor and I get to trade it, wouldn’t that also lead to inequality? And if I don’t get to keep them, it’s back to 1)- what incentivizes me to work as hard as I would if I were rewarded proportionally to how much I produce? Also how are you any better than capitalists then, if under your system 100% of the product of my labor is taken?
