A few weeks ago I was preparing to teach the primary lesson on the book of abraham. I went to LDS.org and came across the essay on the translation of the book of abraham. The foundation of my existence is now crushed.

Born in the covenant, served a mission, sealed in the temple. I did everything right. I talked to my wife, she said if I tell my son we are getting divorced, so I'm going to have to be an active non believer. I'm on the east coast, not from Utah, so there's very little social support from the lds community to start with, but now I'm alienated from my only support system because my wife and I are both from multi generational lds families that just happen to not be in utah- my wife was born in utah but moved east when she was young. After the essays, I came across the CES letter, I was angry at first, but now I'm more interested in how to deal with this without destroying my family.
