who are you?

what is an occultist to you? i have read some books to become knowledged to find my religion but i am thinking of getting back to strictly the occult. what would an occultist do? i did some magic but it wasnt of the occult it was voodoo. of the occult i only gained knowledge so what do you do? do you keep a book of shadows and do summon demonic entities or you are more of a meditative person? or you just gain knowledge like me in the divine? what type/path would be appropriate magic and simple for the begginer magician? i dont want to play with demons im more into theurgy.
