How to be unhappy without being a spoiled, brat asshole - the tutorial.
At this point I'm pretty sure that everyone noticed that this sub-reddit community likes to complain about absolutely everything they can find. However, in the past few months I've witnessed some sheer stupidity that IMO should NOT be allowed anywhere.
I understand that the game can't please everyone, we're a community of god knows how many million people and it's impossible, no matter who the developer is to actually please every single soul.
I also understand that giving feedback, criticism and opinions are crucial for the successful development, growth and sustain of the game, but some people are just entitled, spoiled little shits thinking that they're the only ones that care, play and support the game and the fact that they spend 15, 30 or more dollars give them the rights to insult or even threat Ubisoft employees to extreme levels that are not helping neither us nor the Ubisoft.
It's one thing to threat Epi that you will pray to Lord Chanka that his toilet paper has a splinter because they didn't include your favorite charm you ask for 3 times on reddit. It's a totally different thing to go all out and insult employees and say you hope they get killed, beheaded or whatever brain diarrhea hit you in this moment of enlightenment.
Here how can you make actually useful thread, still being unhappy but actually be civil.
TITLE - Don't start with threats from the get go. First of all, you mean fuckall in the grand scheme of things. One or ten, or a hundred players throwing a hissy fit doesn't change anything, and if you think Ubisoft will change their ways immediately because "You're fucking done", you're wrong. Accept it, if you're threatening from the start and then continue being toxic shit, the chances are you're not even worth their time reading. I've proved it myself, despite in the early days I made it vocal that I will cancel my pre-orders and won't buy the game if they release it in the current state with countless bugs and lag problems - well guess what - they still did besides the thread was decently upvoted and on front page. Use a calm and informative title, "Ubi, I don't agree with you doing this, I think it will affect that negatively*, is fine. "Ubisoft you fucking cunt, piece of shit, shitstains, I'm fucking done, I won't spend a single cent for this piece of garbage game ever again" - it's not. First of all it doesn't actually say anything and it's a sign of incoming verbal diarrhea not worthy of any CM or Dev time.
BODY - Make sure you're aware of what exactly you're unhappy with, because if you're not no matter what you type nobody will understand either. Expose your problem first, explain what you don't like, what made you angry. Then instead of going in to rage mode tell what you think should be done. What is your vision of fixing the thing. Just going "I don't like Rook!" does nothing. You just waste bandwidth. "I don't like Rook, because ... and IMO you should do this to make him better" however does a lot. Now, don't feel entitled that Ubisoft MUST listen to you and HAVE to do what you say. That's not how it works. However if you have a good idea, exposed it well and the community embraces it there is a good chance that this change my see the light of day at some point.
Now look at this guy : https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/6vub0x/about_this_new_map_rotation/
He did it right, he complained and offered some solution and he is being useful to the community.
And look at this guy : https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/6vx0ij/im_done_ubisoft/
Using "people" , "I", "they" without any actual meaning, he thinks that if he says "we" and "they" a lot it will add more weight, it doesn't, he is "going to leave", like it matters, and "Try me!" like someone in Ubi's offices is going to sound the fire alarm and reverse everything just to please him. He doesn't even offer a solution, he just plain bitches about it. Don't be this guy. It will get you more Karma for sure, it's always easy to rout simple, angry people, but Karma is useless and does nothing, don't be the "I'm interent famous" guy that spends his whole day chasing imaginary points.
