Did the Bulls pull an Isaiah Thomas on Jimmy Butler?

I know Jimmy was traded before Isaiah. But it seems like the exact same except we didn't land a star player after the trade. Jimmy was loyal to the Bulls then gets traded after GarPax said they wouldn't trade him. Similar thing with Boston. What's your take on it?
