PSA: Nvidia Users follow these settings for an FPS boost.
Morning all,
My Rig : i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz, 16GB RAM, GTX1080, all installed on SSDs.
Since the update I've had pretty sketchy FPS, dipping into the 30s and 40s, I wasn't very happy about it.
So here's what I did.
First and foremost, update to the latest drivers (385.28), this helped a lot.
- Enable TextureStreamingEx
To do this, go to : No Man's Sky\Binaries\Settings\ open TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS in notepad (or similar and set TextureStreamingEx=On
- Set the number of cores the game uses in TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS. I have 4 cores, so I set it to use 2 low and 4 high
NumHighThreads=4
NumLowThreads=2
- If you use VSync (to get rid of the terrible screen tearing this game suffers from), make sure you enable Triple Buffering in the Nvidia Control Panel

- Disable the Geforce Experience Overlay
This made a huge difference for me. I now never drop below 60FPS and everything is peachy. To do this, launch Geforce Experience and go to Settings, turn off the Share button :

Hopefully this'll speed things up for all you Nvidia users.
Any more tips will be appreciated.
