How to use the OnePlus 5 with Freedom LTE

Hey all - this is not a question about the issues with the OnePlus 5 and Freedom's LTE as I think I've figured that out. It's a simple (I think?) question for those who have been using the phone with Freedom's network. Does the LTE work fine until you receive or make a phone call? Also, after making a phone call, do you just have to turn airplane mode on and then off again in order to get back on the LTE network or is it more of a hassle than that?

Considering getting the OnePlus 5 in spite of the issues with it on Freedom LTE but want some clarification on the above first. Thanks!
