I fell in love with you on the park bench. Lit by the orange glow of streetlights. I fell in love with you to the sound of cicadas on a hot summers night.

I fell in love with you beneath the trees of the Nelson. And thereafter on the docks overlooking the lake. The sounds of guitar and thunder as our soundtrack.

I fell in love with you beneath the stars on a blanket. We felt so small..as if we were in a snow globe looking out into a much larger world filled with a million stars. And thereafter..when the rain poured on us making us run to your house for shelter.

I fell in love with you on top of a train i knew we shouldn't have been on. Same as I knew going to Atchison to watch the jazz festival would only make me fall harder for you.

I fell in love with you when we shared Christmas with each other. I felt like part of your family on Christmas eve. And you felt like part of mine on Christmas day. You looked so beautiful in your red dress.

I fell in love with you on prom night, when that little girl called you a princess. And during the last song, where we slow danced in eachother’s arms.

I fell in love with you as you tried your hardest to get into school. I tried as best I could to be there for you and push you to be your best. And my heart skipped a beat when your dreams came true.

I fell in love with you when I saw you graduate. It was the proudest I've ever felt in my entire life. You don't know it but I cried from joy that night.

And I fell in love with you every word you spoke, every kiss we shared, every smile you cracked, every tear we shed. Every minute of every hour of every day.
