Billions of taxpayers money getting spent to shave 30 mins off a north east to London train...

Surely waiting for the hyper loop to become viable or doing something like tokyo's bullet train would be more beneficial? I seen the times that they save on these new trains/lines and for the money it costs I'd honesty rather it be spent on things like hospitals, nurses etc I just feel like a big chunk of this pie will be going in certain people's back pockets... corruption cough cough I mean capitalism at its best
