Looking to get my first decent EQ mount... I found a used Losmandy GM-8, should I get it?

I don't have any EQ mounts besides a cheap flimsy one from a Bushnell 60mm refractor I had as a kid, and I really would like to get a good one.

I've been looking around, and was thinking of just going for a Mrade LX70, or something similar.

Then I started looking at the Vixen Advanced Polaris mount, and the modularity caught my eye. It's much more expensive though, and I've seen mixed reviews.

Then, I found it: A Losmandy GM-8 mount, local, for $700. It has the square-leg tripod, and some Bobs Knobs, and looks in really good shape.
It DOESN'T come with a drive controller, though. (The motors are included)
I looked at the design of the mount, and it should be easy enough to remove the motors from the worms and attach some flex knobs temporarily until I can save up enough money to get a Gemini system or something.

Does this seem like a decent deal? The mount looks fantastic, and has plenty of capacity for what I want to carry (A 102mm refractor)

Are there any other options that might make the decision harder?
Does anyone have any experience with this mount?

OR: Does anyone have a non-goto digital drive they'd sell me? There was one listed on Astromart for $100, but someone paid the guy AS I was talking to him about it.

Thanks!
