Does anyone else think that there's a parallel between Beth's and Summer's different insecurities? [spoiler]
In the episode Summer first starts to act irrationally by messing with dangerous Rick tech to make herself into what she believes to be more attractive to get Ethan's attention, after she didn't get any positive re-enforcement from Beth.
Soon after, Beth messes around with the same dangerous tech to fix a complex problem, refusing to call Rick for aid because of her own insecurities- Morty says shes trying to prove herself, give Rick a reason not to leave. Just like Summer tries to give Ethan a reason not to leave her.
By the end though, Beth, with the help of Morty, realizes that Summer needs her expressed support, and however uncomfortable it made Beth initially, she goes all in for it.
I think that from this, we're given a bit of optimism in that Beth, even with her flaws, is turning out to be a better parent in contrast to Rick. In the previous ep, he explained to Jaguar why he didnt see the need to communicate his love (or his own Ricked up perception of love) to his daughter, which has arguably had the same effects on Beth as if she hadnt talked to Summer in that way at the end of ep4.
Sorry if I'm late, but I didn't anything like this in the ep discussion thread. Legit, any other parallels or themes or whatever yall notice, plz lemme know- I think this season is kicking ass!
