Looking to be an EMT

Hi there! Sorry if this seems unorganized, my first attempt at a reddit post. I recently turned 18 and was already planning on taking an EMT course this November at a vocational school, CIEMT, in LA county. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information and some advice.

• What're some schools that you could recommend that is in the southbay area, or anywhere around. Does anyone recommend CIEMT.
• What're the steps I need to take to become an emt (probably as an attendant) It is a highly sought after job and after researching for a few months before i turned 18 it seems grim for me. Especially with my age and almost non-existent driving history.
• How would I fare applying and trying to get hired? Is there anyway I could better my chances? I really do want to become an emt, any help would be appreciated
