Customer Service Kind of Terrible

Just a rant on something that happened to me yesterday. Basically I have 3 lines of unlimited in Verizon. The thing that gets me is 2 of the lines only use maybe 500mb each. However with the unlimited plans it's all or none. So I figure I'll port out my number to Cricket Unlimited and lower the plan in Verizon to the lowest data, which will save me $50/mo all said and done. Well I bought a Cricket SIM card and clicked the link for "purchased my SIM card somewhere other than Cricket". Typed in the ICCID and my IMEI. Everything went fine. It asked for the number to port which I provided. What I bought was weird that it never asked for my Verizon account number or pin during checkout. All it said was if we need more information we will contact you. I didn't even think it would try and port until I went to activate after paying. Well I paid and it definitely tried to port which resulted in an error. Then i got an email saying click this link to provide more info, which I did then it said to call. I called and they were clueless. Needless to say they lost my number that I've had for over 15 years doing the port and now I have a new number with Verizon because they couldn't get it back either. I told Cricket I didn't want a new number and to cancel my order. They then told me 10 days for a refund. Just a warning for those porting, might make more sense to go to a store.

tldr: Tried porting to Cricket. Lost my 15 year old phone number during the process and I'm out $60 for the next 10 days while I wait for a refund.
