Obnoxious teacher turned sinister
We had the most obnoxious music teacher in our junior high. Thankfully I never had to deal with him because my class had another music teacher, but my little brother was always telling me stories about how he would relentlessly bully the overweight kid in his class. My other friends were laughing at his demeanor during a sex ed class (he filled in a lot for other teachers) because he would share way too personal information about his own experiences. He also demonstrated to the girls how to shave their legs. So, the consensus around the school was that he was weird and a complete asshole, but that was it. Until the rumours started.
A friend of mine had friends at the previous school he had worked at. She told me that he had gotten fired for touching the girl students inappropriately. Then, because they were like old hunting buddies or some shit, our clueless, useless excuse of a principal gave him a job at our school. At first, I thought people were just making this shit up about him because everybody hated him. But then, I was talking about him with another friend and she shuddered and said that he invades personal space to the point of making her uncomfortable and he touches her shoulders in an inappropriate way. She was tearing up telling me that and then she went "Nobody is ever going to believe me". Even my best friend had a story about him, how he would get way too close during band practice, standing behind her to teach her how to play the bass guitar, practically hugging her from behind.
Later on, I found out that several girls had reported him to the principal. What did he do? Fucking nothing, because the calculating predator targeted girls with "bad rep" (drinking, smoking, skipping school), so basically our principal completely dismissed their accusations because they were "trouble makers".
Then, a few years later, I heard that he had committed suicide. He had found out his wife was cheating on him, so he had secretly videotaped his wife with another man, emailed it to every single city employee (including my mom) and then blew his brains out with a shotgun.
I was in high school when he killed himself and I didn't feel sorry for him at all. All I could think about were those friends of mine and numerous other girls who had to deal with his predatory bullshit, while the principal looked the other way.
Not long after his demise, my little brother told me, "Our new history teacher is so weird. He took our class to the sports hall today and made the girls wrestle each other. How does that have anything to do with history??" I don't know if my old junior high still has the same principal, but it sounds like he needs to go. I sense a pattern in hiring dubious teachers...
