Starter Camera?

Hey! So something I really love is photography: taking pictures of nature, people, the city, etc. I love to take pictures to keep as memories and share with others, especially family who can't experience what I experience (cause they're either too far from the location and expenses). I always take pictures on my phone, but I'm looking to get something a little more. I was hoping someone can recommend a little more of a "Hi-Tec" camera. Ive worked with those small, Canon cameras before so I think I have some basic understanding of how cameras work. Thanks!
