Long games

As much of a pain longer games can be, I also really love them because I end up with so many stacks. I ended a 55+ minute game with over 14 stacks. I don't remember the exact count, but my range was so awesome. I usually build Shiv early on but once I get to late would it be better to trade it in for a firecannon for the range?
