Who would be your pick to play the new Joker?

I'm sure you guys have heard by now that there's plans for a new stand alone Joker origin movie, which I'm apprehensive about on one hand but also glad about since I'd love to see a current depiction that isn't played by Leto (though he has his fans, apparently)

When I heard the news, instantly Stephen Merchant entered my mind, I couldn't think of anyone better to pull it off, he has the height (as Joker is traditionally depicted as being quite tall) and I think he'd really pull off the air of manic energy

Who'd be your pick?
