Change of plans
I made plans while I was drinking regularly to visit my ex sister in law and go on one of those wine not-tasting tours without the kids and catch up. I knew when I did it I that I shouldn't have, but it sounded so classy and grown up and fun. We were texting back and forth about something and she mentioned her husband was on his way to an AA meeting. I get the impression there is a story there by the way she phrased it, but I'm not really shocked because i always thought somewhere that he drank like me. Anyway, those two little letters gave me the strength to tell her that I should really never drink either and she happily accepted my suggestion to change plans to a family picnic and BBQ and yard games instead.A trip I was dreading getting wasted on and making a fool of myself has now become something I am truly looking forward to. I know I'm not alone from coming here, but to hear someone close is battling the same thing just really brought it that much more to light. Happy sober productive weekend y'all.
