A problem with the atmospheric flight in 3.0 demo
So far, from what we have seen through the demo livestream, the physics of atmospheric flight is spot on. The players have all expressed similar feelings about he experience, that the ships have just the right amount of drag, fuel consumption, etc.
And I know CIG has shown a certain pride in keeping with more realistic physics while maintaining a fun game experience.
But one thing that I noticed in the livestreams that is opposite of how atmospheric flight should work is the flight speeds. Typically when flying in atmosphere it takes more thrust to fly at higher altitudes, making flight faster at lower altitudes a bit easier to achieve. But in the demo, they were able to fly much faster at higher altitudes. This seems a strange flaw.
I question the community at large who are likely much more educated about such things: Is this correct or is this a flaw?
