How to make sound in headphones louder? Quiet recordings.

I listen to audiobooks on my SGS3 with Cyanogenmod (in future Lineage OS), but the recordings are too quiet even on 100% volume and I don't have that governmental volume cap enabled. Is there a way to make sound in headphones louder? Sound quality isn't very important, I simply need to understand the words spoken.
