Help me sort out this prescription from an unhelpful optometrist!
Hi r/glasses,
I just got my eyes checked for the first time since grade school (I'm in my 30s). I have never worn glasses but have noticed some blurriness and eye strain. The optometrist wasn't helpful in explaining anything and I was so nervous about the whole thing I didn't ask enough questions. All he told me was that I was on the threshold of not needing glasses at all, but he still wrote a prescription and told me to use them "as needed." Due to having blurry vision from the eyedrops I didn't buy anything and took my Rx home. As I looked into what all the numbers meant I got more confused. Can someone help decipher?
Sphere OD: Plano OS: +0.25

Notes: SVDS
If (according to random googling) SVDS means glasses for distance, and my left eye is farsighted, how does that make any sense at all? If someone can help enlighten I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
