SINGAPORE - A man who drove his car into the waters off Sentosa has been arrested by the police on Friday.

In a statement on their Facebook page, the police said the incident took place along Ocean Drive in Sentosa at 2.08pm. A viral video circulating online shows a white multi-purpose vehicle sinking head first into the waters.

TODAY understands that the 36-year-old male Singaporean driver was pulled conscious from the car by passersbys who were near the scene.

According to the police, a Sentosa ranger was also slightly injured in the accident.

A second video of the incident shows the white MPV driving straight off the pavement and into the water after being pursued by two Sentosa rangers on motorcycles.

It is not immediately clear why the driver was being followed, but the police have arrested him for committing a Rash Act Causing Hurt and Criminal Trespass.
