A Wayfaring Man
Everything that is virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after. In order to even begin to understand our Heavenly Parents and the worlds of their creation, it is necessary, essential to read not only from our own scriptures, but from every account that can be found which records their dealings with us.
A long time ago, Buddha once told a story about a wayfaring man. When asked what the fruits of choosing the lifestyle of returning to God are, he described how the wayfaring man is received by the righteous (Jacob 3:2), that the journey is sometimes difficult, but as long as you walk the path you will be carried by all of creation because the Lord will always provide a way for you to accomplish his will. (1 Nephi 17:3) (from a section of the Buddhist scripture called "Samaññaphala Sutta: The Fruits of the Contemplative Life")
If you will receive the wayfarer as a fellow traveller on the path leading to God, you will see for yourself that all of the heavens and the earth will in turn receive you and lift you up on the journey home.
Will you recognise Christ when he returns to you? When he stands before you saying "here I am"? Where do you see him in our world today? Who is telling you "here I am"?
