Pension insurance refunds on leaving Germany

I'm a non-european citizen that has been working in Germany for almost 3 years and will be leaving in January to the UK for work soon. I read somewhere that I could apply for a pension insurance refund as I have not been living in Germany for more than 5 years and are not planning to come back.

Is this possible? if so, where should I start?
