Going to the Hub via a Portal _and_ keeping one's old base: may be i found a way to do this (confirmation needed)

I know that i am not the only person who is tempted to go to the Hub now, with portals allowing to get there relatively quick, - but in the same time willing to keep my old base, also. In my case, it's because i'm right next to the center of Euclid and i'm willing to keep my presense there while also being able to go to the Hub at a moment's notice. If the below method works, i'll sure come to the Hub once i'm ready to go! :)

But, i can't verify if it'd work, myself, any time soon (in my current game, lots needs to be done before i'd try to move to the Hub, i don't even have glyphs yet).

Therefore, i share this method here without testing it myself, and i ask you, ladies and gentlemen, to test it and see if it actually works. Those of you who are going to move (any great distance) through a Portal any time soon anyway, i mean.

Please note that since i haven't try this method myself, there is no guarantee that it'd work and you wouldn't lose your old base location for good. But i think it should work. Please tell us if it works for you.

The method:

  • put a beacon right next to your base;

  • dismantle everything and store matherials, EXCEPT things built outside of the base' perimeter (vehicles' bays are the prime example of that, since it's best to put them out of one's base perimeter to avoid their high base complexity costs when made within base' perimeter);

  • go to the portal and perform the usual fast travel, claiming a new temporary base in the process. During this step, one gets old-base' system space station visited and its teleporter used and "saved";

  • go to the destination-system space station and use its teleporter, so that that space station would get "saved" in the base' teleporter list of recently visited stations;

  • right after, being in the temporary (empty) base in the destination system, teleport back to the old-base' system;

  • fly back to the beacon left near the old base location, claim the base back, and rebuild everything within base' perimeter.

After doing all that, one should still have his old "permanent" base in its full glory (including everything built outside of the base' perimeter but near the base itself, the view, location, old base' planet's features, possibly race track, etc), AND have after-portal system's space station in the list of recent stations visited in base' teleporter, allowing proper travel there at any time.
