Printer Suggestions

I hate printers, I think we all hate printers. They are dicks. Despite my feelings on printers I have been tasked with finding a printer for my bosses house. They have a B/W brother that is a work horse. But their current color is an HP 5510 and they don't like it. It blows through ink and it's not cheap to replace. I don't think they do a lot of photo printing so I am leaning laser. My bosses wife wants specifically inexpensive ink and a printer that doesn't hold jobs hostage if one color is low. (That might be more of a settings thing)

I feel like SysAdmins know best because we have to deal with them all the time. If it were up to me, everyone would have managed print services lol. If this is the wrong place for this question, let me know and I'll post it elsewhere.
