The Newsroom - should I try it again?

I've loved The West Wing since I first started watching it, around the time it finished airing. I've watched it so many times through, and I'm a huge Studio 60 fan, I like Sports Night, I've watched nearly every film Sorkin's written and I enjoy them all.

But I watched the first few episodes of The Newsroom when it first aired and I just didn't think it lived up to what I think of as Sorkin writing. I've tried it again more recently, but again I couldn't get past the 3rd or 4th episode. Am I missing something? Is it worth pushing through?
