A fun opening.

I am an avid watcher of chess related YouTube channels and am often confused, as I am a poor chess player myself (and a bit of a moron). I often hear the players stating things like "the Sicilian is a fun opening" or "the Italian is a boring opening". What exactly do they mean? What constitutes a fun/boring opening do you think? I realize the question seems stupid but I'm genuinely confused to the meaning of relative "fun" in chess openings.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but the search function didn't reveal anything of relevance.
