Questions for those of you who use chinese for work

Hello everyone,

I recently passed HSK 6 and I am now looking for a job related to china and business (my major).

While HSK 6 is a good level for everyday life, it's still far from being fluent.

My questions are for people who are using chinese for their work: what was your level when you started working? How did you prepare for your work regarding chinese and how long did it take before you felt really at ease? What were your employer's expectations regarding your chinese level? How do you feel speaking to chinese colleagues / clients? Etc.

Basically, I'm a bit apprehensive and would like to hear about others' experiences.

Thanks!
