Was Ted Kacyznski the most misunderstood genius of our time?
I have been recently researching into Ted Kacyznski, I haven't read his essay or manifesto yet but I know they are on the industrialization of society, and the eventual collapse of it. He was able to bomb multiple places for 25 and never get caught until his brother ratted him out. (Brother noticed his style of writing in manifesto of unabomber, realized it was his brother)
He went to harvard and michigan university and was a mathematician, and professor. He had an IQ of 167. At his cabin that lived in for 25 years he had a huge collection of books and the locals always said he would have very intelligent conversations with them. They said he would have to order in books for him and he would always be at the library.
Although I do believe he does have a mental disorder, I believe that was only onset because of his intelligence and extreme education of the world. The more I educate myself on history and modern politics the more I feel a little more paranoid, not like meth addict paranoid, just like "What could the people up there do next?" or "What can society do next?"
Supposedly you can still send him mail in jail and he replies back, but I heard you might get put on the FBI's watch list in doing so.
He was even mentioned as a joke in Good Will Hunting. "He moved to Montana and 'blew the competition away'"
It still intrigues me of how such a happy looking, clean, and successful man turned into such a recluse and turning to domestic terrorism. In a way he reminds me of man from the movie Law Abiding Citizen.
What are your opinions on the guy and his works? Anyone ever read them?
