Husband does not want to stay at the hospital

Okay am I the crazy one? So we have a 7 yo son. My husband says he wont stay in the hospital with me (after labor) because he needs to be home with our son. My parents have agrees to watch him while we are at the hospital, its not like he is going to be home alone! Tonight he is having a practice sleepover with my parents, which is his first time away from both of us overnight. My husband says I dont need him there and there will be nurses. Ive done this before, 100% need him there. His other idea is to have our son stay at the hospital once baby comes, which I doubt is allowed and is a stupid idea. He just got fired from his job on wed. And has been taking it pretty hard. He has anxiety and depressions and hates hospitals, so I feel like he is just looking for and excuse not to stay. Those with older children, what is your plan?
