Hot Chugger

Hello,

I would like to ask for your opinions, regarding a 230V chugger pump (CPSS-IN-2) I have, and I'm a bit concerned about its operating temperature. After 10 or so minutes, the outer temperature of the pump goes up to 65C, and the biggest temperature I could measure inside was 78C.

Here are some flir images of the pump: http://imgur.com/a/sAdzN

I've also measured its energy consumption. The pump is supposed to run with 1.4A, however it run at 87-88W, which is equal to around 0.35A.

I've also contacted chugger support regarding this issue, and they only told me to put a cooling fan next to it. And if "i feel" it's too hot, I can send it back, but the guy is sure it will test OK. I'm reluctant to do international shipping just for fun, since they don't have any service center in the EU. And also, I don't have a backup pump for the time being.

Also, chugger support passively refused to make a statement, and tell me the normal operating temperature of the pump. It appears to be they are kinda useless, and just want to avoid any warranty work.

So guys, what do you guys think about the temperature of the pump? Should I be concerned? Is this normal? Should just send it back to them?
