How to fix Solo Dungeons

Right now with the nerf of drops in bosses there's 0 incentive to running solo dungeons. I've run 8 today and got around 1-2k each. That's way worse then just farming chests. You either get lucky with the good bosses that are actually worth the loot or you might as well don't run them.

  1. Proper Rewards : running one of these dungeons should be well worth your time. It's not worth even having them on the map as it is right now in my opinion. You farm them for the bosses.

How to fix: Add a chest at the end of the dungeon, with better silver then camps of the same map and at least some rune drops.

Adjusting this would make more players try to run the dungeons which in black zones are PvP enabled which in turn could lead to some interesting fights.

  1. Difficulty : As it is right now, you can join the dungeon with your bubble and rush half the map, just kill 3 mobs and the boss and fuck off. There's no one inside 98% of the time and the minions, even the lower bosses aren't a challenge for someone wearing T4 gear.

How to fix: make maps longer so you can't rush them. And add more groups of minions and mini bosses. The lower tier bosses shouldn't be the final boss, anyone that throws a t4 poison potion could easily kill the lower tier bosses with no trouble at all as it is right now.

  1. Risk and PvP: Risk is also related very deeply with difficulty, but since you're alone 99% of the time. Once you're inside you're almost guaranteed to be able to get the reward as it is and get out without much trouble. If you die to mobs you only lose durability.

How to fix: Make solo dungeons solo player only and add the same mechanic as Hell Gates. More then one player goes into the dungeon but only one gets the rewards. If you make it that only solo players can join, And once you're inside you don't see the players name or guilds, could lead to some pretty good opportunities to fight while racing to get to the end boss.

This three points combined would make solo dungeons on the map go from farmable low reward activities to high risk, high reward, dangerous places where you'll need to PvP if you want the rewards.

Wait when and why did they nerf solo dungeons and chests? I kind of stopped playing as I didn't like the direction the game was going. We were looking at trying to play again and solo dungeons and chest farming is what me and my friends mostly did so if they nerfed that there's no way we're coming back.

They cut silver drop by half and changed the loot drop rates (kinda nerf-buff)

Ah that's kind of unfortunate. I suppose it just gives you more incentive to leave the BZ to sell the drops.

You could reword that as chest running had close to zero loot risk. Die after an hour of chesting, all you lost is your set.

I was under the impression you ran solo dungeons to solo farm fame, not t find drops.

I don't think that's the case because there's very few enemies in them. You spend more time running around than fighting.

You mean they made soloing even harder? No way, they love solo players!

I like the idea of limiting numbers and removing names/guild names. But... why not just make them more like hell gates overall. This gives solo players a good chance to PvP. And at some point in the game, even players in large guilds might want to attempt some solo PvP in a hell gate situation.

They are not "solo" dungeons but you can run them solo if you want.

Normally though there are tons of group players in the dungeon wiping all the mobs.

There are dungeons specifically designed for just one player to run, in Mercia at T6 Maps, all of them have solo dungeons in the map.

OK. Thanks for the info. :)

Took me a while to realize that you were not talking about Expeditions.

Yeah, those solo dungeons are not worth the time.
Even the group ones are not that worth it; you can get easily swarmed, so you have to clear mobs, but the silver rewards isn't that great.

Once you're inside you're almost guaranteed to be able to get the reward as it is and get out without much trouble. I

I will disagree here. Its so fast to run in, that you have no chance to escape if someone rushes in flagged up.

I got an artifact mace from the chest in the bigger tier 4 bz solo dungeon last night, as well as 4K silver. So the loot drops are certainly better.

But I agree that the nerf was silly. It removes incentive to go into the already deserted BZ on your own.

It's supposed to be for fame not for silver. Chests are a much bigger risk so they should reward more silver. That being said both have terrible rewards and are not worth doing..

I've just been on a 2 week break... finding out my main source of income (solo dung and chests) have been nerfed, is a bit annoying. Solo dungeons really need looking at as is. If you enter one and there happens to be 2+ players, you can't do much. I've probably seen more solo players in them than groups, but groups were becoming more and more common before I took a break.

Read the roadmap update. They said PvE rewards will be increased to make them worthwhile.

Wait? Solo dungeons are actually Solo? Last time I tried one solo and guess what 7 people just doing a SOLO dungeon.

I mean, this is pretty much what happens when you don't introduce any limiting factor on people.

As much as some people complain about the game not being fully 100% sandbox, people will almost always gravitate towards larger groups when left to their own devices.

Such is the order of things. We have learned from countless generations we thrive best when working together.
