Is this the downtown theater? I went there on 8/25 and 9/1. Both of which were a Friday. It was basically empty.

it’s super creepy when you leave after seeing a late movie and there’s literally no one else in the building.
they turn off all the lights, and the street lights outside don’t work. it’s like walking into your own personal horror movie.

We just came home from there, seeing mother! and the theater was practically deserted. As we were getting our tickets I had a group of underage (like under 10 years old) kids ask me if I could use my ID to get them into the movies. 🙄 I get that IT is a popular movie, but asking complete strangers to get into a movie is insane.

I used to do that back in the day at the Bijou. Go in film nerds gotta do what they got as do. I had a stranger but my ticket to Once Upon A Time In Mexico there.

Of my options I watched Logan Lucky(little older) and I rewatched Spiderman. I found Logan Lucky to be enjoyable. Funny enough. Could have used some more action.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I feel like 3 months ago when it was a Carmike it felt a lot more clean, busy, and had things happening, like they don't even turn on the screens in the lobby anymore since it's changed. It's so weird!

This movie theater should be filled! If you guys haven't checked out movie pass ( $10 a mo. For a movie ticket at any theater, once a day everyday) you def should.
For a private theater. Literally all on my own.
I'm so bummed that AMC isn't going to accept movie pass :(

Oh really? I almost bought it the other day, but called the Majestic first asking if they take it and they told me "no"? Maybe it was just someone who didn't know what I was talking about and gave me a wrong answer? If it's working for you then I'll buy it! Lol

I ordered mine on 8/15 and still haven't received it. When did you order and receive?
Got it the first day the $9.99 was offered, got mine last week. Gf ordered two weeks after and got some time this week.
$10 + invasion of privacy.

Official app doesnt really matter. Its all tied to the account you use. If you have a smartphone google or apple already has far more info on you than anything moviepass collects anyway.

Honestly curious, what invasion? The tracking they do with your moviepass card? They can do that with your credit card already if you use that to pay for movies (I know home depot does that for e-mailed receipts and it's awesome).
The app? Is that required? It doesn't look like it.
The app is required. The card is a prepaid-debit card and you have to open the app within 100 yards of the theater and choose the movie you want. It then loads the card with the exact amount for the ticket. So, they know when, where, and what movie you watch. But I don't care for $10/mo movies.
That sounds stupidly complicated for the end-user as opposed to just tracking it on the point of sale system like every other membership system.

you need the app so they can load the card with the ticket value.
That's pretty lame, because yeah, apps way overreach in their data access. There should be a way to grant access to fake contact lists/files/etc. to bypass them while granting them access to nothing.
