Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q) Thread
Since a lot of the guides got outdated/removed, I thought it'll be nice to have some info or at least some guidelines that don't really get outdated/can be updated easily, so what else would it be other than a F.A.Q thread.
(Note: This F.A.Q thread is not made to be followed rigorously and by no means should be used to replace any future in depth guides)

What should I prioritize as a beginner?
Player level is important to get the maximum return from mando refill, while doing so you should also try do all the daily, weekly, monthly stuff and level/gear your main heroes to 6* lv 40.
Who should I choose from my 5 hero selector?*
New heroes will bring new meta, so this will change constantly, you should check the latest tier list to get some references. Lynn is currently viable everywhere, especially if you're new, she will get you far to the latest content (choose the elements based on which team synergy you want to build). It's worth noting that you'll get a free Arendel and Josephine upon completing Avon's Song in story (Josephine's third skill has a huge AOE to one hit most of the early maps in adv.). Fire Eldin was also a favorite for his Action Charge Speed buff from his passive, however the latest update added Soma with the same passive skill (weaker passive by 5% plus crit. chance buffs). Water Eldin is potentially the better Eldin version right now.
Where is the best place to farm/How do I level my player level faster?
The highest return of exp per mandolin is Mythic 4-6 with 7000 exp for 7 mandolins with dark radiant fruits and a fodder as drops. Some would also advice that it is better to farm in a level where you would also need the drops, for example, you need some weapon enchantment crystals and blue radiant fruits so you can farm in Mythic 2-7.
Note: The 6th stages in map 1 - 4 give out higher exp than the other stages of that same map.
Note 2: Fairy Realms don't give out exp to units.
What are elements?
Basically units with the stronger element will hit harder against the respective weaker element, and the weaker element does not hit as hard against the stronger element. The only exception is for Light and Dark as they are only stronger against each other. Read the official basic guide for best explanation.
How do leadership skills work?
When you are selecting which units to bring into battle, you'll notice a leader gold text above the first unit slot, that unit's leadership skill will then act like additional passive bonuses to units with the specified elements in the skill. Some leadership skills will also have [White Text] (e.g. [Fairy Realm], [Boss Raid]) box before specifying which elements they are for, those only work only in that mode(s).
Note: Leadership skills do not work in arena.
What is hot time?
Hot time can mean two things. Mostly it is referring to the hot time login bonuses (check here for the latest schedule). You will also notice a hot time sign above the arena sign occasionally, that is saying that hot time for arena is active and playing arena gives out double the arena coins (arena hot time normally starts around 7pm-9pm, check the link just mentioned above to see the latest schedule for this as well). Both are based on your server time.
What are enchantment crystals and where do you get them?
They are used to enchant your weapons/accessories to get different bonus stats. If you want to know what bonus stats do they give click on the icons for them in the game material codex to see the different bonus stats. The enchantment crystals for weapons drop in adv. map 1 to 4 while the crystals for accessories drop in map 5.
Note: Lv.2 weapon enchantment crystals can only be acquired from the Chaos Spire tower.
How should I build [insert unit] equipments?
It is not really possible to generalize equipment in this game unless you go into details for that specific unit. Until we get a comprehensive equipment guide, I'll leave you with the most basic sets/guideline, p.atk/m.atk for attackers and hp/def for tanks or supports. One thing to note is to not use equipment with magical attack bonuses for physical units, and vice versa. If you still want to hear advice from other people you can go to the daily questions thread and ask away.
How does defense/def. penetration/dodge/accuracy/effect accuracy/effect resistance/crit. damage/crit. damage reduction work?
The easiest way of seeing these stats are as simple math problems, if you have 1000 def, and enemy has 50% def. penetration, your effective defense is 1/2 of 1000 so 500. The same goes for the rest of the stats, the difference are some are in percentages and some are in point forms.
As for what the stats affect, they are as what their names would suggest. Defense and def. penetration are stats for total damage. Dodge and accuracy are stats for evading/hitting the attacks. Effect accuracy and effect resistance affect the chances for skill effects(stun, poison, etc.) to apply to the enemy when the attack/skill hits. Crit. damage and crit. damage reduction are multipliers when you land a critical attack (0% crit chance means that you will never land a critical attack).
Note: Always check your enemies' stats in new dungeons/levels especially in fairy realms and labyrinth because some enemies have special skills/attributes so you have to tailor your units based on those conditions.
How do I farm crystals?
Selling monsters give out crystals, and the amount you get per unit is based on their star level. The efficient way is to evolve your 3 stars monsters to 4 stars and sell them, higher than that you need lots of mandolins to lv and to get the fruits. Doing boss raid daily will also give you crystals and they reward you weekly based on your ranking. Other than that arena chest can also randomly give you crystals.
What do I buy with crystals?
You should buy whichever you need the most in your situation. If you need more units you can buy the hero emblems (you will also get hero emblems from farming hero songs), if you need more equipment you can buy bell flowers (you will also get bell flowers from farming weapon/accessory dungeons), or you can buy the gold chest which can give you 100k - 1m gold based on RNG.
How do I farm garnets?
- Doing daily quests give you 15 garnets in total, Hot Time login bonuses at 7pm give out 30 garnets on weekdays and 50 garnets on weekends.
- Achievement quests also give out garnets (notably the repeatable garnet quests).
- Weekly rewards from arena and raid boss.
- Random chest while farming in adventure.
- Arena chests (RNG).
- Max leveling new units give out garnets as well but only for the first time.
- Hero Songs and Fairy Realms(Weapon/Accessory) dungeons also rarely reward garnets on completion.
- Going through labyrinth will also reward garnets along with other rewards once.
- If you are considering to buy garnet with a bit of money the best package to buy is Fran's Gift Pack.
How do I get more mandolins?
- If your player is not max leveled yet, every time you level up your player level, you will refill your mandolins.
- Find 50 friends and use all of your friends' units to get 500 friend points and if they are active they will also use your unit and give you 500 friend points again, with 1000 friend points you can refill your mandolins 5 times from the shop, so remember to set your best unit as leader.
- Arena Chests (RNG).
- Hot Time login bonus rewards 600 mandolins on weekdays and 700 mandolins on weekends.
- You can always use your garnet to refill. If you are F2P the most efficient ones are the mandolin charge tickets package from the garnet package tab which is 1.5 refill for 10 garnets in comparison to the normal 1 refill for 10 garnets. If you are P2P you want to get the ones from the rare package tab, they give you 5 refills for 10 "Paid" garnets from the package.
- Hero Songs and Fairy Realms (Weapon/Accessory) dungeons will also rarely reward mandolins.
Note: The amount you get per refill is based on your max mandolin cap, which is why player level is important.
What is the fastest way to get gold?
Sell every accessories you don't need from farming. You will also get 50k-700k gold per day from boss raid, and then there is the gold chest (100k - 1m) you can buy with crystals. The newly added gold wanted/event dungeons that will appear randomly from farming will also give out quite an amount of gold.
How do I get new equipment/accessory?
Currently the best way is through fairy realms' dungeons. Different weapons have their own dungeons, however they all have a chance to drop gloves(all class weapon type) other than the respective weapon type.
Physical accessories are from the magic training dungeon, magical accessories are from the physical/assault training dungeon, and both of them will also drop hp/def accessories. After enough farming you'll have enough bell flowers to buy the 5* weapon tickets and the 6* accessory tickets in the equipment section of the shop (you don't want the other tickets in that shop section, though no one is stopping you if you do need some fodders/you want to test your luck).
How do I get new units/heroes?
There are hero songs, step up summons and arena summons.
In hero song/hero advent shop you will find an abundant of heroes to farm for. It is hard to advice which to get/which not to get because by the looks of it, they will add/change the content of hero song constantly (you should check the latest tier list/read on the heroes in the in-game hero codex to make your own judgement), and you will not be able to get everything or rather you don't want to get everything anyway, so instead I'll advice you on just the most important ones, they are the darknyang summon, the two 5* summons and the one 5* selector summon (all of these reset monthly).
Step up summons are the only way to get newly released hero (they take a very a long time to get into selectors), just make sure to have enough garnets to do all the 9 steps to guarantee one.
Arena summons might be the least interesting/attractive (Lycian is not that useful) to players. You require a lot of time and team power to effectively farm coins, but of course the darknyang and silvernyang are the must buy ones, other than that use your own judgement.
What is the best way to enhance(skill lv+)/ultimate enhance(unlock rune slot)/awaken(max lv+)?
Use darknyangs for enhancing, silvernyangs for ultimate enhancing, and same unit heroes (elements do not matter) for awakening (they will probably add another nyang for this). So get them darknyangs and silvernyangs that reset each month. You can also use five 6* units of the same element (you need ten 6* units if they have different elements) as the unit you want to ultimate enhance to unlock one rune slot for that unit.
Note: Darknyangs should be used for 5* units as you will not get them as easily as 4* units.
Note 2: Leveling a unit above 40+(awakened units) takes a lot of exp/nyangs. For a rough comparison, leveling a unit from 40 -> 41 takes as much exp when you level that unit from 1 - 40 roughly (not sure how much exactly), and then almost double? that much exp for the next level up to lv 50. So for 4* units or lower you might want to prefer maxing their skills first before awakening as they are easier to come by and they actually get stronger right away (both with duplicates).
They've just recently updated the help menu in-game, you might want to consider checking them out for other helpful information(notice button top left below account name -> help).
The list above will not cover everything nor will it be 100% accurate, but hopefully this would help some of the newer players to understand a few stuff beforehand.
If you have anything you think should be added feel free to let me know, however for further personal questions please direct them to the daily questions thread to ask some of the veterans instead.
