[USA][14"] Looking for new laptop thinking Xiaomi Notebook

Valid Form
  • Total budget and country of purchase: So I don't really have a budget but I will be buying from inside the Eastern US

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. 4+ Hours of battery life would be nice

  • How important is weight and thinness to you? Since this laptop will have a second home in my bag I would like a light laptop

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux. I will be using Windows mostly maybe have a partition for Linux and if applicable MacOS

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. I don't like 15.6" Laptops or higher would really like to stay under 14" something to fit the following deminsions to fit in my bag:

370mm x 245 mm x 30 mm (roughly)

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. I'm in college for Graphic Design so being able to do minor video editing at 1080p would be nice which isn't hard by my standard. I mostly would be using this to play my E-Sports titles so the most demanding one will be Overwatch

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I'm not picky with my FPS ratings as I play on pretty low settings now

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? I want a show piece really something that is clean or minimalistic great examples of this would be The Macbook line (but no), My #1 laptop of choice the Razer Blade, or something that has recently caught my eye the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air

  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. If anyone have any, I really would want more info on the Xiaomi Notebook with the refresh sporting a MX150 as that gives me decent FPS with E-sports titles

I also note that for the price of the Xiaomi I could get better performance but I would like something that isn't bulky or have a gamer aesthetic which is something more than likely non-platsic or has a uni-body metal chasis, i also know there will be a premuim for that type of desgin

Do you have a link to that Xiaomi laptop, showing specs and price?

For another option, what about the [Acer Swift 3] (https://shopineer.com/laptops/Acer-Swift-3-8th-Gen-Intel-Core-i5-8250U-NVIDIA-GeForce-MX150-14-SF314-52G-55WQ)?

  • 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U Processor (Up to 3.4GHz)
  • 14"
  • 1920 x 1080
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 256 GB SSD
  • NVIDIA GeForce MX150 with 2 GB of dedicated GDDR5 VRAM
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 10 hours battery life
  • 3.75 lbs.

It also has a good build quality (aluminum case), a backlit keyboard and an IPS screen for wider viewing angles.

This latest gen quad core CPU should be great for general use and gaming.

It also comes with an MX150.

For more options you can check this [list of gaming laptops] (https://shopineer.com/laptops/top-lists/best-gaming-laptops). There are a few lightweight laptops there.
