So is the hub town officially called Astella and not Astera? Or did they just get it wrong?

TheDistantBlue•

The English voice acting already says Astera, so these guys just got it wrong.

I thought it was more due to Japan not differentiating between L and R

They must be pretty bad at giving directions

Take a light at the light and then the next reft.

Yeah it more than likely has to do with phonetics.

leonfook•

The official PS blog state it as Astera, so yup, they're wrong.

The map seems to hide the zone you have not yet visited at 25:47. It's a nice touch, not spoiling unexplored areas.

Edit : lol, that sneak attack at 27. xD

I'm interested in the fact that that the areas merge into one another. Does that mean we can freely travel between them?

Seamless travel between numbered areas, but not maps (i.e. you can't go from Ancient Forest to Wildspire Wastes without teleporting)

Please keep discussion of the TGS news to the stickied megathread.

Not sure how I feel about Nergigante's whole regeneration constantly thing, it just seems like apex monsters all over again but with no way to stop it once it's hardened.

Well the difference with this one is that it's not artificial difficulty. This time it's an incentive to be aggressive. While Apex monsters can't be dealt with if you don't have a special item, you can take down Nergigante by simply taking it down first before it gets you. Think of Gore's virus mechanic: if it was just arbitrarily placed, it would be a needless and artificial, but since there's a way to get past it, it adds on to the hunt and makes it more fun.

I think it's to encourage keeping slightly up to date gear and being aggressive (like Gore). I still remember entering a room in MHgen and everyone being a S&S user with the low level para weapon/set. It was an easy run, but man it took forever since I was the only one with high damage..

Para weapons are such dumb shit in generations. It ruined a lot of fun that game had, I could barely find a room without one "carrying" the room

I'm sure it's not as bad with constant bouncing. I'm sure blue/white sharpness can still deal damage through black spikes, just significantly less. Green should bounce off of him.

Partbreaker and/or damage skills.

mfw I just state a concerned opinion and reddit takes it as if I hate the game

Yikes...

Monster Hunter World is to other MH games as Vindictus was to Mabinogi, by the looks of it.

.

[Edit]: I'm guessing a lot of people here really hated Vindictus. I was only referring to the style change, honestly.
