The Fall of Freedom
The Fall of Freedom
The leaves are like suspended commas hung
To dot the musings of intrepid breeze
Reverberating songs of freedom sung
Through all deciduous October trees.
But to be held in endless wooden grasp
And only dream of liberty's release
To long and want with earthy muted rasp
With boundless dissonance of warring peace.
To fall,
and only for a moment know
The call
of wind's eternal rushing blow.
My intention was to portray how people give up their freedoms/restrict themselves because it's safer and easier to, while the act of seeking true freedom can make yourself vulnerable
