Michigan Grant Eligibility

Hello, I also plan on bringing this to Financial Aid, but I wanted to see what other people thought, first. Anyway...

Last semester I received an email from Financial Aid, saying I only have three terms of eligibility left for the University of Michigan Grant. As it says on their website, you only receive 10 terms total, regardless of where the previous terms were located. I won't dispute that. The problem is, aside from last year, all college education I've received was during high school.

I dual-enrolled for three years of high school, which equates to six terms. I then had one year here, so that's eight terms. I'm somewhat confused about what they mean by only three terms left.

The only way the math works out is if I ignore my first year of dual-enrollment and count the semester I'm taking at this moment. That would give seven terms. But if one year of dual-enrollment is ignored, the others should be as well.

So does the number of terms include the semesters I took in high school? If so, I should only have one left after this semester, which is much worse for me. If not, I should still have seven.

I'm a sophomore, so it's obviously impossible for me to get my Bachelor's degree within the time they seem to say I have left. As I said at the beginning, I'm going to speak to the Financial Aid Office as well. I'm planning on scheduling an appointment later today, in fact. I hope someone might know what to do about this issue. Thank you for any assistance.

I don't think anyone outside of financial aid is going to be able to help, this is a pretty specific problem. Fortunately, every interaction I've had with the Financial Aid office has been pretty helpful, so I wouldn't be too stressed.
