Rats in a race

Have you ever seen a rat in a race? I know I have, You seem them everyday if you look carefully Its quite a curious sight really, I've watched them scurry around In a endless hunt for their precious cheese, Never stopping to ask why.

They live their entire life, As a part of someone else's game With out even realizing it Its a sempiternal hunt, For what they think will bring them happiness. But they never think what they will do, When they find their so called "happiness"

All the rats I have meet Are seldom content with their cheese They spent their life hunting it relentlessly. But they never asked themselves the one question Will this really make me happy? So you see, the life of a rat Is no life for me.
