What should I do with this Hydroid Prime?

Request

So I've just got all the blueprints and materials to craft Hydroid Prime, however I'm currently building Frost,Oberon and Valkyr and have no slots open(Excal,Mag and Rhino are my current frames), being a new player I don't exactly know if Hydroid Prime is so good of a frame that I should just craft it, or if the slots I'd buy from selling it would be better in the long run, what should I do?

Edit: I was thinking of selling Rhino for the slot to use Hydroid, but I didn't like this idea much since it's just 10k Credits for all the materials and time it took to get him.

You should build every single Weapon+Warframe in the game at least once (and level it to 30), for the Mastery Rank.

There is 0 reason to not build something, you can just leave it in your Foundry for as long as you want and it has no ill effect.

I've had a built Magistar waiting in there for at least 8 months.

While this is right Hydroid Prime sets are currently still worth a bunch. He seems fairly new so selling it now, using the plat for slots and then building Hydroid at a later time for mastery xp or to use him might make more sense.

Eh, their value is quickly draining so unless OP hasn't built any parts at all (unlikely since they're talking about building Hydroid and not his bits) they'd have to farm out a whole new set to do just that.

A Set sells in a few mins/hours on warframe.market.

And because the value drains quickly it's better to sell now and get a second set later. Especially if he doesn't even really want to play it. There are tons of easier and better ways to get mastery xp for someone like him.

I don't think a Hydroid set will anywhere near 80p in a month or two. What's the use in keeping the set or building it now just to keep it in the foundry?

Personal opinion, I would never sell something on before I've ranked it up.

I assumed most players were like that, since if OP doesn't want to have to farm it out again they're going to have to buy it again.

just let him stay in your foundry for now if you don't have the space for him.

  1. Acquire plat
  2. Buy more slots
  3. Become the puddle

Sell him now while he still has a slightly inflated value. Since he was just released he will be around for a long time, and you'll be able to find radshares pretty easy to get another set. The extra slots early on are much more valuable than a built frame sitting in your foundry.

Hydroid Prime has some decent crowd control in his 3 and 4 abilities, but he's a top-tier resource farming frame with Pilfering Swarm augment that causes enemies to give extra loot if they die while under his 4 ability. No reason not to get him.

Don't forget the armor stripping, super helpful at high levels. Corrosive barrage rocks :)

have him fully built waiting in the foundry. Make some plat for slots by opening more relics. 20p isn't too hard to come by even if you're a new player. Opening 20 relics of junk and selling things at 1-2p each works. Or you can use warframe.market.com to get a real deal

Gotcha, the main reason I considered selling it was because I've already have 3 frames on the way and thought I'd have to get them right away, plus I haven't made any plat at all despite having a good bit of dual stat mods, so seeing the opportunity to make decent plat I thought I should take it, but I might just do that then, I didn't think 1-2 plat stuff actually sold for some reason, thanks for the help everyone.
