The article spoils some scenes from the movie and basically just talks about how the women have some death scenes in it.

Dying?
Every day

But everyone, literally every person on the planet, faces that issue.
Men died in this film too, but I can't spoil it.
Ummm no spoilers pls.
Insightful response thanks, you completely changed my view!
You're a regular poster to r/TumblrlnAction and r/CringeAnarchy. This is a pathetic attempt to assume an SJW persona and push some kind of anti-liberal agenda. Please keep your bullshit out of r/movies you sad fuck.
I mean I get that it may be a bit harsh, but I respect the director and his vision.
tbh I haven't seen the previous original movie since I don't watch old movies since they were all problematic. Expected the new one to improve on the formula but as usual it didn't. They should have gone with another director tbh. The guy behind this is not good.

What the hell does problematic mean?
How about you watch old movies because they're good, they won't bite you.
Don't feed the troll man, its exactly what it wants.
I know, I know. They just get my goat so easily. Reddit's worn me down.

Everything in our lives is problematic in some way or another. To refuse to engage with media because it might(!) have something you find objectionable is insane.
Ok, now I know you're trolling.
All old movies are problematic? In what way?
“I’m willfully ignorant.”
Learn to think for yourself, kid.
Fucking delusional, both men and women die in this film equally and as violently as each other. The only things close to sexism in this movie are the prostitution and sexual images, but that's a reflection of the filthy dystopian world it's set in so it well justified. My Gf really enjoyed this movie and laughed at how stupid this article was.
Because some women die? That's the only problem this article suggests for why women won't like the film. The floods can't come quick enough
you can tell this movie is sci-fi because in the future of the movie every single moment isn't ground to a halt by people whining about gender. not to mention that the only woman with purple hair was hot and not some wildebeast with a twitter account castigating people 24/7 for perceived offenses.
pure comedy
Valar Morghulis.
I don't want to read the article because I don't want to be spoiled, but if it is just about women and men dying, well, women died in the first one too (though I did have some issues with the way women were treated in the first one).
If these women serve no purpose other than being fridged, then yeah, that's an issue (and always has been in...really, any sort of media where the protagonist is a man). But if they're actual characters and just happen to die...well, I'm not worried about it. But, I haven't seen the film yet, so maybe the men who die are just shot and all the women who die are severely brutalized or something beforehand. That'd be a problem too.
Pretty hilarious that someone could bring that up when far more men are treated as expendable in films. Seriously - take a look at any action movie and look at how many men are shot in the head or brutally murdered compared to women. TV tropes has an excellent article about it.
At the end of the day though, it's entertainment. It shouldn't matter if it's an entertaining movie. But the blatant hypocrisy is what is so frustrating. None of these people would care if the genders were reversed, and that's proven by the thousands of films where you could go through an entire movie without a woman killed and there would never be complaints about "violence against men". It's just silly.
Wow...this type of response showcases the lens of a person who views the world in one dimension only.
Everything is racist, everything is sexist blah blah blah. It's like they get a bonus for everytime they're offended.
This piece of shit, pseudo-SJW try-hard, fluff piece is littered with spoilers and hyperbole. Avoid it at all costs if you haven't seen the film and if you Have, ignore it anyway. Tabloid tripe and nothing more.

Stupid review , why can't we just judge movies on their merit , rather than making everything thing about diversity and feminism.
I'm tired of these pseudofeminists. Even that Forbes guy didn't like the movie but atleast he didn't give this stupid logic regarding women deaths , why do Rotten Tomatoes even count such useless critic's review
Believe it or not, but it is entirely possible to watch and review a movie without turning it into an ideology fest. Contemporary critics could really consider this oh, so novel idea. Fanaticism is so reductive....
Umm... that's pretty problematic, coming off as a bit of a nazi
