Your lips, your smile, your warm embrace,

That pretty picture of your face,

Are not a list of luxuries

Far more important are these.

For in a gilded crown

Love will not be found.

No jewel can fill the heart’s abyss

Nothing can, save a lover’s kiss

Flowing gently like the Nile,

Love nurtures all, mile by mile.

For all our needs our love provides,
