After rolling through Somalia as Ethiopia I thought I'd have a hard time as Somalia. May have been slightly harder but it was still really one sided.
Game didn't think so though, got a royalist coup because I was "loosing the war". Had just started the secret police Focus as well!
For the emprah!

Serious question: How do you guys play Abyssinia, like focus tree-wise. It seems like it takes absolutely ages to get anywhere (write new constitution), and that entire time you’re having to deal with one or two factories usable. I’ve only played as them once, but it seems like by the time you get anywhere, it’s 1942. Not getting hit by Black Monday is nice though.
I tax the eritreans right away just to get some action.
Having played through, it is INCREDIBLY boring.
Funny how the game ends up making you beg for war. You know, the thing that nations are suppoused to avoid at all costs.
Kinda shows the specific spot where HoI4 went wrong. Not that the HoI saga was ever any different, though.
I've stopped in 1942 after reforming the government and beating Somalia. I might go back for a few more focuses to check if getting the election focus allows me to vote syndicalists into power.
For me Mittleafrika exploded so I'm going to be in the long process of fixing the gross borders starting with Kenya but other than that there isn't much to do. Which is a shame but that's what to expect when dealing with an Isolated country.
Although saying that there could be a slight change from the pan-Africanist thing that Ethiopia had going on before hand and instead focusing on a anti-colonial NI tree, so if Mittleafrika collapses Ethiopia can play peacemaker or liberator forming a African Union faction or some such.
